MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its award winners for the 2026 women’s outdoor track and field season based on voting by the conference coaches.
University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Izzy Peterson received Track Performer of the Meet honors from the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver’s), while UW-La Crosse’s Maya Evans was tabbed the Field Performer of the Meet. UW-Stevens Point’s Faith Wehrman was named the Newcomer of the Year and UW-La Crosse claimed Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Peterson won the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash with times of 11.80 seconds and 24.12 seconds, respectively. Her time in the 200-meter dash established a WIAC championship record. Peterson was also a member of the fourth-place 4x100-meter relay team.
Evans posted first-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 19-7 (5.97m) and 39-1 1/4 (11.92m), respectively.
Wehrman won the 10,000-meter run with a time of 35:24.97. Her time set a WIAC championship record, breaking the old mark that was set in 1981 by UW-Parkside’s Wendy Burman.
UW-La Crosse’s coaching staff led the squad to its 14th consecutive conference title.
