MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its East Division and West Division men’s tennis awards for the 2026 season.
In the East Division, The College of New Jersey’s Alberto Thomas claimed Player of the Year, while teammate Faris Shehata collected Newcomer of the Year distinction.
In the West Division, UW-Whitewater’s Theo Billson was tabbed the Player of the Year for the second straight season, and UW-La Crosse’s Aiden Meixl received Newcomer of the Year accolades.
The College of New Jersey head coach Scott Dicheck claimed Coach of the Year honors from both divisions. He has directed the Lions to a 14-5 record, the WIAC title and a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship.
Thomas has a 16-7 dual record in singles action and 16-3 dual mark in doubles contests, while Shehata has accumulated dual records of 16-5 in singles and 6-1 in doubles.

Billson posted a 23-5 dual record in singles competition and 15-12 dual mark in doubles action, while Meixl finished 16-6 in dual singles contests and 13-6 in dual doubles matches.
An All-Sportsmanship Team was named for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each team as selected by that team.
