GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field Team.
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Kayla Behnke was a first team selection, while UW-Stout’s Leah Zastrow claimed second team status, and UW-La Crosse’s Amber Grosse and UW-Platteville’s Izzy Peterson landed on the third team.
Behnke secured first team recognition for the second consecutive year and is the first individual in program history to achieve the feat. She majored in mathematics and computer science and accumulated a 4.00 grade-point average. Behnke claimed the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award at the NCAA Division III indoor championship where she took third in the 20-pound weight throw. Behnke was the conference champion in the weight throw. She placed second in the discus and fourth in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division III outdoor championship. At the conference outdoor meet, she won the hammer throw and was the runner-up in the discus.
Zastrow majored in business administration and had a 3.93 grade-point average. During the 2026 indoor season, she captured the NCAA Division III title in the pole vault with a school-record mark. Zastrow also won the WIAC title in the event. In outdoor competition, she finished second in the pole vault at the WIAC championship and took third at the national championship.
Grosse sustained a 3.85 grade-point average and majored in biology with a minor in nutrition. She captured the pentathlon title at this year’s WIAC indoor championship and finished fourth in the event at the NCAA Division III championship. Grosse owns the school record in the heptathlon.
Peterson owned a 3.64 grade-point average and majored in English. She had second-place finishes in the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the NCAA Division III outdoor championship. Peterson was tabbed the WIAC Track Performer of the Meet from the conference outdoor championship, sweeping the 100- and 200-meter dash titles. During the indoor circuit, she won the 200-meter dash at the NCAA Division III championship and added a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash. Peterson was victorious in the 60-meter dash at the WIAC indoor championship. During her career, Peterson established school records in the outdoor 100- and 200-meter dashes, along with the indoor 60-, 200- and 400-meter dashes.
