Would you like to help beautify the City of Sun Prairie? Flower beds are located throughout the city and volunteers are needed for them. Through this program, individuals, families, or groups volunteer to adopt a flower bed planter within the park system and care for it for the summer and fall seasons. The volunteer or volunteer group will be responsible for bringing their own planting tools, weeding regularly, general maintenance, and regular watering of the plantings during the growing season. They are also responsible for the removal of the flowers at the end of the season. Volunteers or volunteer groups may design the appearance of a donated flower bed. The size of each flower bed is approximately 4’ wide by 20’ long, with the middle of the bed elevated in height. Plants should be placed about 6” apart on center to provide a thick, colorful flower bed.
