Building a vibrant community is at the core of the Eldon Homes mission.
“We are committed to providing housing for every stage of life in Stoughton,” said Rob Hostrawser, director of operations for Eldon Homes. “Our proximity to Madison, access to top-tier amenities and our ability to provide a one-stop home buying experience is propelling the growth of our little community. Both the downtown and outlying areas are evolving into residential hot spots for everyone from new families and young professionals to grandparents and retirees. It’s a community that is just a wonderful life option for so many.”
Your hometown builder
Hostrawser attributes part of the community’s revival to Eldon founders Keith and Tammy Anderson, whose Stoughton family lineage dates back nearly a century. Their philanthropic efforts and community betterment projects run the gamut from investing in park improvements and hospitals to youth events and educational projects, including a new multimillion-dollar sports complex for the school district.
Hostrawser said Eldon Homes’ most recent investment included a $250,000 donation to the Stoughton Hospital Foundation for a new 56,000-square-foot medical outpatient building, which is expected to open in spring 2025. The completed facility will provide the necessary space for visiting specialists, as well as therapy services, including physical, occupational and speech, among others.
“Communities benefit substantially when its residents have access to great housing, great schools and comprehensive health care amenities,” Hostrawser said. “The new medical facility, for example, will provide another great asset for our community in that quality care will be available right here, just a few minutes from home.”
Meet your neighbors
Hostrawser, who partners with the Andersons in developing the new neighborhoods, said the company’s employees and the builders, contractors and real estate agents they work with are fully invested in the vibrancy of the community as well.
“We’re neighbors. Stoughton is our home, too,” he said. “We all live here and are part of the growth and success of our own hometown. We have everyone’s vested interest at heart when helping clients find just the right home for them and their families.”
Find a home within your budget
The company’s diversified portfolio includes everything from affordable entry-level homes to higher-end premium builds. All the Eldon Homes are energy-efficient and include a wide range of options for colors, counters, flooring, siding and floor layouts.
Given the higher mortgage interest rates right now, Hostrawser said the company has adjusted their product line to fit the financial abilities of the homebuyers. For example, he said clients may choose to postpone patio and deck installations or opt out of having a finished basement. Others may choose to decrease the home’s square footage to ensure affordability.
“The one thing we do not compromise on is quality, though,” Hostrawser said. “Every Eldon home is built meticulously using high-quality craftmanship with comprehensive checkpoints throughout the average 90-day build cycle.”
The company also offers clients suggestions and assistance with financing and home warranties. Hostrawser said the company is expecting to complete approximately 60 new homes this year. That number will increase next year to nearly 104 homes with their new development, Magnolia Springs, located on the south side of Stoughton.
