About Journey Mental Health Center

COVID-19 Specific Information and Services

Your health and well-being is our priority. Journey Mental Health Center is aware of the potential implications of an infection within our programs and is actively working to minimize the risk of exposure.

For the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring and preparing for all the possible scenarios and working to have the right plans and resources in place. Each program at Journey has a preparedness plan. Our plans follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS).

The recent outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has understandably raised many questions. Journey Mental Health Center wants you to know that we will keep you updated on recent developments.

Effective Immediately:
Journey staff will be checking their voicemail messages and emails to keep in contact with their consumers.
Direct face-to-face services for our Community Support Programs (CSP) and Yahara House will be centralized through Gateway CSP on Olin Avenue.
Our community based programs will be in regular contact with consumers to ensure their needs are being met. Contact will be made via phone or scheduled appointments at Gateway CSP.
We will be contacting consumers that have scheduled appointments with our Outpatient Services program.
We will allow access to Journey buildings for only those who have been pre-approved entry. This would include necessary Journey staff and Journey contractors.
Those allowed access to Journey buildings will be screened upon entry. We will restrict entry to those with fever, respiratory symptoms or possible exposure to COVID-19 or that have travelled internationally within the last 14 days to areas where COVID-19 cases have been confirmed.
Individuals entering Journey property will be required to wash their hands upon entry as well as throughout their time in the building.
We will clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces following manufacturer’s directions.
Whether on Journey property or during visits in the community, Journey staff will practice social distancing of at least 6 feet. For situations where social distancing is not possible, staff will be masked and wearing protective gear.
There will be signage at all Journey buildings that will alert those entering about the new restrictions.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, please call our Crisis Line at (608-280-2600).

Founded on Nov. 16, 1948 as the Dane County Child Guidance Center with six employees, Journey has grown into a sizeable community mental health clinic with over 500 staff members. We are dedicated to innovation and cutting edge programs.

In 2017, 12,208 individuals received treatment services through Journey’s 29 programs. Journey provides a continuum of services to individuals across the lifespan.

The vision of Journey Mental Health Center is to become a center of excellence for the provision of behavioral health services.

People: Hiring and retaining great employees.

Productivity: Being a model of quality and cost effective service for other behavioral health organizations.

Partners: Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of consumer satisfaction.
