COVID-19 Specific Information and Services
Since early March, Bering Bounty LLC has been working to counter the insidious menace that Covid-19 presents to our communities. Once this threat became apparent, we immediately took up the challenge to protect all our customers & entire team. We see this as our responsibility. We have stayed ahead & gone beyond any level of government advice. Through the careful monitoring of valid information from official reports and sources, here at home & around the world, we have been updating and adapting our protocols as and when necessary and shall continue to do so. The entire team has been rigorously but happily following our stringent new measures. We are smiling under our bandanas and face masks when we deliver to you!
- Bering Bounty LLC vs. Covid-19 (Coronavirus): New Protocols for the Team -
If you, or any member of your household, feel unwell in any way, let everyone else in the team know straight away. Another driver can take the delivery run.
- No handshaking at all - under any circumstances. Say hello…but at a distance.
- Facemask/bandana must be worn for deliveries and during handling of all fish boxes.
- Avoid touching your face/mouth – the bandana & facemask will remind you not to!
- Gloves on before touching first box & on entire run. Thoroughly use hand sanitizer on reusable ‘gardening’ gloves. 2 packs of vinyl gloves in the cab as back up. But to reduce harm to the environment - & so as not to deprive health workers by using more gloves unnecessarily - we shall be using the ‘gardening’ gloves.
- Whenever possible keep good distance between yourself and anyone else (6 ft is the suggested distance by WHO). Make it at least 12 ft, if delivering to homes.
- Cough/Sneeze into crook of elbow if you must – but preferably use tissues supplied in cab - not into your hands and never into the air.
- Dispose of gloves and tissues into trash receptacle in van – empty frequently and be sure to dispose of everything at end of run.
- As always, wash hands thoroughly before beginning and during run - 30 seconds (sing Happy Birthday twice to yourself) - soap and hot water, back and front of hands, between fingers. Repeat process at every opportunity during run.
- Avoid touching surfaces and door handles - use a paper towel to open doors when leaving restrooms.
- Hand sanitizer is in the van – use as frequently as necessary.
- ‘No-contact’ deliveries: Boxes at door. Preferably call, or if need be ring doorbell with gloved hand or capped pen – then move back. Keep 12 ft distance. Precise details to be worked out with each customer. Boxes only handled with gloves - Covid-19 can remain 24 hrs on cardboard.
- Post delivery: The van's handles (inside and out, cab and cargo area), steering wheel and surfaces of the interior van (in cab and cargo area) - must be wiped down thoroughly with the disinfecting wipes at the end of each run.
Many thanks for your understanding in the strict implementation of these new protocols.
This is not an overreaction – we simply must be aggressively defensive.
Working as a team and adhering to these measures will safeguard everybody.
