A day and night of rain in Madison should give way to sunny skies on Thursday.

The National Weather Service said sun should continue on Friday, but showers are expected to move in Friday night and continue into Saturday.

The day-to-day outlook for the Madison area:

  • Wednesday afternoon: An 80% chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm, high near 62. Up to a quarter-inch of rain is possible, more in storms.
  • Wednesday night: A 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, low around 47. Up to a quarter-inch of rain is possible, more in storms.
  • Thursday: Sunny, high near 68.
  • Thursday night: Mostly clear, low around 52.
  • Friday: A 20% chance of showers, high near 69. Winds gusting up to 35 mph.
  • Friday night: A 50% chance of showers, low around 61. Winds gusting up to 30 mph.
  • Saturday: A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, high near 71.
  • Saturday night: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, low around 59.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, high near 72.
  • Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, low around 57.
  • Monday: Partly sunny, high near 71.
  • Monday night: Mostly cloudy, low around 58.
  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, high near 75.
