A burning semi carrying potatoes slowed traffic on Interstate-39 near DeForest Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The vehicle fire blocked southbound lanes of I-39 at Highway V at 4:20 p.m., the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said. No injuries were reported and DeForest Area Fire and EMS assisted in putting out the blaze, the Wisconsin State Patrol said on social media.
Most lanes on the highway opened around 6:00 p.m., the DOT said.
