Kelly Sorensen has stepped down as Stoughton girls volleyball coach, Stoughton athletic director Mel Dow said Thursday.
“Unfortunately, we lost another great coach in Kelly Sorensen,” Dow said. “She has been an incredible advocate and leader for our female athletic programs here at Stoughton.”
Dow said Sorensen helped form a mindset that made Stoughton’s girls athletics strong.
Sorensen coached Stoughton girls volleyball for seven years. She surpassed 100 career coaching victories last year during a 2016 season when the Vikings shared the overall Badger South Conference title with tournament champion Fort Atkinson and dual-season champion Monona Grove.
Stoughton also is also seeking a boys soccer coach after Dave Wermuth stepped down. Dow said Stoughton’s staffing will be evaluated and then the openings for boys soccer coach and girls volleyball coach will be posted.
