The job for Madison West director of school athletics and school operations has been posted.

The job will be posted from March 9 to April 9, said Madison Memorial athletic director Jeremy Schlitz, who is the Madison school district athletic director.

The job opening was scheduled to be posted at Wisconsin School Leadership Center Team, WECAN, Wisconsin Athletic Director Association, www.jobsinmadison.com and the Madison Metropolitan School District website. A link to apply is https://hr.madison.k12.wi.us/.

The purpose of the job is “to provide overall leadership, supervision and coordination of all athletic programs and school operations to promote, support and align them with West High School’s Improvement Plan and the MMSD strategic framework.”

Responsibilities, knowledge requirements, skills, abilities, qualifications and salary range are detailed on the application.

Greg Valaskey was named last week as interim athletic director at Madison West, following Torrance Hill’s resignation Feb. 27.

Time change in Big Eight 

Eric Bertun, Big Eight Conference commissioner, tweeted that most Big Eight Conference varsity boys and girls basketball games will be scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. in 2018-19. They had been at 7:30 p.m.
