Madison Memorial coach Michael Harris was named the Big Eight Conference coach of the year when the all-conference team was announced Wednesday.

Harris guided the Spartans to the Big Eight title, finishing 9-0 in league play.

Last year, Harris shared coach-of-the-year honors with Sun Prairie’s Brian Kaminski.

This year’s assistant coach of the year was Madison Memorial assistant Chris Ceniti.

Leading the first team offense were quarterbacks Jason Ceniti of Madison Memorial and Ben Probst of Madison La Follette and running backs Kallion Buckner (Middleton), Jackson Acker (Verona), Kam Marshall (Madison Memorial) and Jaylend Brown (Madison La Follette).

Middleton senior Jake Wuebben was a first-team selection as a defensive lineman and punter.

Madison La Follette senior Charlie Kunkel was a first-team choice as a receiver and a defensive back.

Verona senior Haakon Anderson was a first-team pick as a tight end/H-back and a defensive back.
