As NFL teams made final cuts to their rosters this week, 26 former University of Wisconsin players made a team's initial 53-man group.
Seven former Badgers offensive linemen made NFL teams this year, continuing the program's success of producing pro-quality linemen. UW will also have eight linebackers among its pro alumni.
Some ex-Badgers — like defensive lineman Beau Allen (New England), running back Melvin Gordon (Denver) and linebacker Joe Schobert (Jacksonville) — are in their first seasons with new teams. UW is likely to have a few more former stars such as Dare Ogunbowale and Chris Orr sign with teams after being cut Saturday.
