Jacob Heyroth-signs with UW

Lodi senior running back Jacob Heyroth (22) runs away from a pair of St. Croix Central defenders during the second half of the WIAA Division 4 state championship game at Camp Randall Stadium in November.

Lodi star Jacob Heyroth has signed a letter of intent to play football for the University of Wisconsin, according to the Lodi High School Twitter account.

He led the Blue Devils to a WIAA Division 4 state championship as a senior in 2017 and earned Associated Press State Football Player of the Year honors.

Heyroth led the state with 2,909 yards rushing (including postseason) and scored 41 total touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound athlete also played outside linebacker and returned kicks for Lodi.
