Under defensive coordinator Dave Aranda’s watch, the Badgers finished the season atop the nation in scoring defense.

Former University of Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda agreed to a three-year deal with LSU that will pay him $1.3 million the first year and escalate from there, Fox Sports reported.

The report also said Aranda’s financial package is not tied to the job status of embattled Tigers coach Les Miles, citing sources that said Aranda “will be taken care of financially” if Miles is fired.

Aranda, who made $520,000 in his third season at UW, was named LSU defensive coordinator Friday night.
