Sophomore Tyler Wahl was a big reason the No. 10 Badgers didn’t have to sweat it out at the Kohl Center. The sophomore forward scored a career-high 14 points as UW kept itself in the Big Ten title picture with a 68-52 victory over Northwestern.
UW followed a poor showing by its offense in the first half by a sloppy defensive effort after halftime. The result was a 74-62 defeat that dropped the Badgers (12-4, 6-3) two games behind first-place Michigan.
Senior point guard D'Mitrik Trice is 22 of 40 (55.0%) on 2-point shots over the past six games, in part because he’s been able to get to the rim more often and has been more efficient once he’s gotten to those high-percentage areas.
The Badgers, who split road games against Michigan and Rutgers, are one of six Big Ten teams in the AP Top 25 poll this week.
