Fans flock to Twitter to weigh in on Wisconsin Badgers' last-minute win over Maryland Terrapins
Wisconsin State Journal reporter Jim Polzin asked Badgers fans on Twitter what they thought of Wisconsin's 56-54 win over the No. 17 Maryland Terrapins on Tuesday night at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Here's what fans were saying after junior guard Brad Davison helped the Badgers improve to 4-2 in Big Ten play:
In search of balance
We got bailed out...but the offense looks, feels, and plays better with Potter in. We NEED to find a way for him and Reuvers to be on floor at same time, or he’s gotta eat into more of Reuvers minutes. He cannot be sitting the last 8+ minutes when he is instant offense.

Searching for answers
You answered your own question. He felt more comfortable defensively with Reuvers over Potter. Playing them at the same time against lineups like this just isn't an option.

Short on speed
Because neither is quick enough to guard an athletic 4 like Stevens or, today, Wiggins. Maryland just would have run screen after screen to get either Reuvers or Potter in a bad matchup.

How sweet it is
Somebody get this Brad Davison a cape and a role in a Marvel movie. He even buried the game-winner from the Koenig sweet spot! #GuardianOfTheKohlCenterGalaxy pic.twitter.com/je08QtIECc

Just scratching the surface
Can you imagine how good Wahl is gonna get? Wow
— Ted Wentz (@TedWentz) January 15, 2020
Point, counterpoint
Won because of Gard tonight. Takes guts to not play the guy everyone else wants you too. Much love to potter but he got worked on D tonight.

Reviving the Kohl Center crowd
“Some dudes just win for you”
— Jacob Johnson (@jakeupjohnson) January 15, 2020
The deflection, the corner three, and forcing the crowd to FINALLY get into the final 3 minutes. Hats off to Davison.
Give us something
Figure out ways to get both Potter and Reuvers on the floor together. Doesn't need to be for too long, just do it in spirts.

Loosen up a bit
May have got the win.. but not having Potter in down the stretch is unacceptable. Close game and a couple minutes left, Gard has gotta play his best players and not stick to his rigid Potter or Reuvers mentality.

Running wild
— Robb Vogel (@RobbVogel) January 15, 2020
Not without reason
Potter didn't play down the stretch because he cant defend the pick n roll and hes been burnt for an alley oop in each of the last 4 games. Twice tonight
— Cody Crawford (@c_crawford34) January 15, 2020
Look at the big picture
Gard had a poor coaching moment@on one possession. That’s all. Anyone who looks at where this team was, where they are now and still thinks he’s a bad coach is a dope.
— ryebadger (@ryebadger1) January 15, 2020
Apples and oranges
Happ was a much better defensive player, much quicker footwork. On switches he could handle it. Not the case with potter and Nate on the floor together.

Standing strong
Stole one, for sure ... but because they didn’t back down when momentum shifted in the second half.

Wink wink
I’m surprised that Ford and Trice aren’t getting more minutes after their stellar play tonight and the rest of this season.

Holding it together
Brad Davison has struggled at times this season, but showed exactly why he continues to be the glue that holds the team together. 👏🏼
— Jenny Scherer (@jenny_scherer22) January 15, 2020
Also: glad Potter’s a Badger. Would still like to see him get more minutes. Why not try a lineup w/ Reuvers & Potter together?
Balanced effort
Great team win

Model of efficiency
Is Micah Potter the most efficient player in Badger BBall History? 14 pts in 13 minutes, insane. Gard needs to figure out how to get Reuvers and Potter on the court at the same time.

Cold as ice
Big defensive and offensive sequences for Davison at the end of this game. We also learned that @braddavi34 has ice in his veins! #Bookit! #OnWisconsin 🦡👐🏀

Coming through in the clutch
Clutch plays to end it, Davison played great. Can’t believe they left Potter on the bench for so long. Need to play him and Ruevers at the same time. The offense will outweigh any defensive deficiencies
— Nic Nehring (@NicNehring1) January 15, 2020
Glaring deficiency
They have to figure out how to guard the pick n roll lobs, Maryland and Illinois were killing when they ran this.

Special delivery
The Badgers have been practicing the last shot special. Coach Gard learning who to play when. Keep it going🏀😎
— Paul Yochum'63 (@PaulYochum63) January 15, 2020
One to remember
Feel good for Davison to hit that shot. His hustle and awareness to win the ball out of bounds was one of smartest plays you’ll ever see

'Gritty, not pretty'
It wasn’t pretty, but the team is starting to play together. Davison always seems to make really heads up plays. Future is bright with the 2020 class coming in.

Avoiding an apocalypse
Shout out to Brad for making Badgers Twitter tolerable tonight
