I am really, really relieved now that our state's Supreme Court and Legislature have allowed concealed-carry guns on Madison city buses.
No doubt the amateur gun-toters have had fantastic -- I mean really fantastic -- training for dealing with dangerous criminals on our city buses. I'm sure the experience and training of a concealed-carry amateur gun-toter is equal to the thousands of training hours and years of experience of a professional law-enforcement person.
It's so reassuring to know that amateurs will be able to deescalate a threatening situation. They have such a great track record of doing that in other situations. I have no worries -- I really mean no worries at all -- about being caught in the crossfire on a city bus.

No doubt the Republicans who made this law ride city buses all the time. I am so grateful the party of small government is once again telling Madison how to conduct city business.
