After reading the letter to the editor from a young Catholic woman on Monday, "Morlino discourages young Catholics," I am really saddened.
I am 29 years old and was raised well in the Catholic faith. Today’s young people and even their parents were not taught strongly in the faith. They misunderstand the bishop. The Catholic Church teaches that acts of being gay and lesbian are sinful. So the church is not going to go around endorsing those acts.
That is why you do not see same sex marriages at a Catholic church. We still love the people of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, but we are not going to endorse the acts Jesus has told us are sinful.
Did not these young Catholics learn about the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah? Today’s society is so worried about offending others that it only follows the teachings it likes.
