President Donald Trump threatens to scrap the Iranian nuclear deal on the grounds that Iran is in violation of the "spirit" of the deal.
Hmm. The president declines to make public his personal affairs, but one suspects Trump and his lawyers haggle and litigate over every picayunish preposition, loophole, exclusion and comma in contracts between his real estate empire and other entities. "Spirit" has nothing to do with it.
If I judge him unfairly, the president can easily prove me wrong by opening his business affairs to public scrutiny.
