Bravo to Chris Rickert for his article about bike registration, or lack of, in Madison.

And boo to the mayor and City Council, among others, for not registering theirs. Isn't that breaking a law if one violates a city ordinance?

The $170,000 missing each year due to violators not registering bikes could subsidize programs in Madison that need it, such as golf. But the mayor doesn't play golf. Hmmm.

Maybe the leaders of our fair city should listen more to their constituents and set an example and pay the bike fees as expected. Both bike riding and golf are sports activities and should be equally supported.
