Packers should dress for the weather to win -- Dave Edgerton

With the forecast calling for a bone-chilling high of one below zero in Green Bay on Sunday, Packers fans can't help but be reminded of the 2007 NFC championship game against the New York Giants, when the temperature on the frozen tundra was three below zero.

I recall a large number of Packers players who, trying to look macho, decided to play that game in short sleeves. The Giants, most of whom had the good sense to wear cold weather gear, went on to win that game 23-20.

I remember the Packers players in short sleeves looking like Popsicles in the second half, stiff and unable to move, and then-Giants player Plaxico Burress dancing around them like they were frozen snowmen.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy should not let his players confuse toughness with stupidity, and order them to wear long sleeves this time.
