In Friday's guest column, Bill Broydrick makes an excellent suggestion for a truly open primary. But he doesn't go far enough.
Let's make the primary really count. How about declaring that, if a candidate gets 51 percent of the primary vote, that race is over. Then the primary vote would be more important — miss the vote at your peril. Primary participation should rise.
