A woman was hurt Saturday afternoon when the apartment building elevator she was in reportedly dropped two floors, sending her to the floor and striking her head.
Madison paramedics and firefighters went to Hub Madison, 437 N. Frances St., at about 5:40 p.m. Saturday, locating the elevator in question on the second floor.
"Two people were inside the elevator at the time of the reported malfunction," said fire department spokeswoman Cynthia Schuster. "One stated she fell and hit her head as a result."

Firefighters didn't find any signs of malfunction, and the elevator worked normally when it was tested.
The injured woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
