Voter outreach training

Learn how to answer questions about voter ID, voter registration, absentee voting and the election process while working on voter outreach efforts with the city clerk. Quidditch championships

Teams from Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin will vie for the chance to compete for a national Quidditch title at the regional championships from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Breese Stevens Field, 917 E. Mifflin St. Admission is free for spectators interested in checking out athletes running around a field while carrying broomsticks in the sport inspired by Harry Potter. For more information:

Olin Park improvements

The boat launch at Olin Park on the South Side could get new concrete ramps in the spring. Help Madison’s Parks Division plan the proposed project at a public input meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodman Maintenance Facility, 1402 Wingra Creek Parkway. Preserving history

Used book sale

Adult and children’s books, CDs, videos and more will be available to purchase during the Friends of Alicia Ashman Library used book sale from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Alicia Ashman Library, 733 North High Point Road.
