Fire fighters from about 25 departments from Wisconsin and Illinois battled a structure fire Friday outside Monroe at a trucking company's storage facility, Monroe Fire Chief Dan Smits said.

No one was injured in the blaze at 5467 Highway FF, which fire fighters had under control by about 9 p.m., Smits said. He expected the fire to be completely knocked down sometime overnight, he said.

No one was in the building at the time, Smits said, and the structure fire was called in by a person driving by shortly before 6 p.m.

The Green County Sheriff's Office had asked drivers to avoid Highway 69 north of Monroe in a Facebook post to make way for trucks and crews to come in.

Argyle Volunteer Emergency Medical Services called on drivers not to gawk while passing by in a Facebook post.

Smits said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
