A Blanchardville woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when her motorcycle went off a curve and crashed in Lafayette County.

Jerica Peterson, 38, died at a hospital from injuries sustained in the crash that happened at about 3:30 p.m. on English Hollow Road in the town of Fayette, the Sheriff's Office said.

The investigation showed Peterson was going west on English Hollow Road when the motorcycle left the road on a curve, entered a ditch and struck a barbed wire fence and power pole.

She was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, where she was pronounced dead.

This was the first fatal crash in Lafayette County in 2018.
