Two men were killed in a single-car crash overnight in the village of Windsor, when their car left the road and overturned.

The crash was reported at about 4 a.m. Monday, but was believed to have happened hours before the car was seen, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash happened on Highway V at Snowy Owl Court, just northeast of the village of DeForest.

The investigation showed the car left Highway V on a curve, with the car rolling multiple times.

The 29-year-old driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. The 27-year-old passenger was wearing a seat belt and remained in the car.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office.

The identities of the victims will be released following notification of family.

Speed was believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
