The state Government Accountability Board is hearing reports of strong turnout across the state and few polling problems.
A voting machine in the town of Rothschild, near Wausau, was damaged overnight and had to be replaced Tuesday morning, said Reid Magney, spokesman for the state Government Accountability Board.
And a polling place in Milwaukee was reportedly asking voters to show identification even though that is not required, Magney said. No other polling problems had been reported by about 9:15 a.m., he said.
"We hear that turnout is strong early," Magney said.
