State investigators say they are satisfied that the April election numbers from municipalities were consistent with those reported by the Waukesha County Board of Canvassers.
The state Government Accountability Board said on Tuesday that staff identified "a few anomalies," but no major discrepancies in the information from Waukesha.
The agency reviewed totals from the county after County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus announced she had failed to report more than 14,000 votes from the city of Brookfield. Those votes gave incumbent Justice David Prosser the lead over challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg
Staff members spent four days reviewing the election materials from reporting units in Waukesha County, and interviewed Nickolaus, GAB said. That review included examining total votes cast report from voting equipment, ballot container security, the election day low, write-in forms, security documentation of voting equipment memory devices and the poll list certification page.

GAB did not provide many details about the "anomalies," but said a more thorough explanation would be included in the agency's complete report.
GAB is said its investigation into issues related to the reporting of vote totals on Election Night this year and reports from the 2006 election posted on the Waukesha County website is continuing.
Nickolaus has drawn criticism in the past.
