Parents planning to send their children to school in a district other than the one lived in can apply online starting Feb. 5.
The open enrollment period for Wisconsin's public school choice program will run through April 30, the Department of Public Instruction said.
The school choice program started in the 1998-99 school year, with 2,464 students attending school in a district other than their home district.
In the 2016-17 school year, 58,347 students transferred out of their own districts to other districts.
School districts will notify parents by June 8 if an open enrollment application has been approved or denied.
