One man is dead after a shooting at a town of Madison bar early Saturday, police said.
Town of Madison police officers who were in the parking lot of Pitcher’s Pub, 323 W. Beltline, heard gunfire around 2 a.m. and saw two men running through the lot, Chief Scott Gregory said in a statement.
One of the men was shot in the head and was treated for his injuries, Gregory said. The man with him, a relative, was not injured, he said.
Another man was found on the side of the building with a gunshot wound and died from his injuries, Gregory said.
Authorities had not released the name of the man killed.

No one was in custody, police said.
Police said the shooting appeared to be targeted.
Pitcher’s Pub employees declined to speak to the Wisconsin State Journal on Saturday.
Gregory said police would not release additional information about the shooting until Sunday.
Anyone who was at Pitcher’s Pub after 1 a.m. Saturday and did not talk to officers before leaving is asked to contact town of Madison police at 210-7262.
