A man from Marshall was arrested at a North Side bar Sunday evening after he allegedly offered to pay someone to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Christopher Beierle, 39, was arrested for solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide and possession of cocaine, Madison police said.

The offer was made to a man at Busse's Markway Tavern, 2005 N. Sherman Ave., police said.

Beierle was jailed on $50,000 after appearing in court Tuesday. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 12.

The woman in question is a Dane County resident in her 20s. According to court documents from restraining order proceedings in October, the woman wrote that Beierle had said on Oct. 5 that he "knows guys that would kill me, my family and my friends."
