A man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times in the parking lot of a Stoughton bar early Saturday, police said.

The 26-year-old man was stable Saturday afternoon, Stoughton police Sgt. Patrick Frisch said.

Police received several calls about shots being fired at Shakers Saloon, 111 Chalet Drive, shortly after 2 a.m., Frisch said.

Officers located several shell casings in the bar’s parking lot and a short time later police were notified that a victim of the shooting was at Edgerton Hospital, Frisch said. The man was taken to a Madison hospital by medical helicopter about 8 a.m. Saturday.

The shooting appears to have been targeted, Frisch said. Several cars were seen leaving the bar when police were responding to the shooting.

No one was in custody, Frisch said.
