Madison police announced that they are seeking charges against a man who allegedly left two women badly shaken after he came out of the shadows on the Near West Side and pointed a gun at the head of one of them on June 19.

The case detective developed probable cause to arrest Kavi T. Fix, 23, of Madison, on tentative charges of kidnapping/seize or confine without consent, strangulation, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment, and disorderly conduct, police spokesman Joel DeSpain said in a statement.

The 21-year-old women were walking together on Mendota Court shortly before 2:30 a.m. on June 19 when the armed man confronted them, DeSpain said.

At the time, police said a person of interest was in custody on a parole hold, but had not been arrested for the attack.
