Madison police search for suspect after man shot on Far East Side

Madison Police say a 22-year-old man was shot early Sunday morning on the Far East Side. 

A 22-year-old man was shot early Sunday on Madison's Far East Side, police said. 

Authorities went to the 1100 block of Mendota Street at about 1 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot would, said Madison Police Lt. Reginald Patterson.

The victim was taken to Meriter Hospital. It's unclear how serious his injuries were. 

Patterson said no suspect information was available.
