La Di Da Design can help clean out your living room, design a new space, and sell your old furniture at their consignment store on Main Street in Cottage Grove.

Owner Patricia Kieren opened the store in August 2011, initially under the name The Village Attic. She recently changed the store name to La Di Da Design and fully incorporated it into the design and construction business she’s run for more than 20 years in the Milwaukee area. She relocated the business to Cottage Grove to be near her three daughters, although her store is still stocked with furniture and accessories from clients in Whitefish Bay and Milwaukee’s North Shore.

“When clients are redecorating or remodeling, we can give new life to their old things and help them save some money for their budget,” she said.

Kieren can help reupholster, repaint and suggest pairings for items purchased in the store. She honed her design skills as a child in Milwaukee by rearranging furniture in her parents’ home.

“My mom and I had an agreement, she could garden uninterrupted and I could do anything with the furniture inside the house. I had the freedom to experiment,” she said. Her father was a builder and Kieren learned the construction and remodeling business from him.

“I have sawdust in my blood,” she said. “I love doing kitchens and baths.”

In addition to furniture and home accessories, La Di Da sells designer purses and jewelry. Interior design, remodeling and home construction services are also available. Store hours vary when staff is working with clients. Consignment items are accepted, but please call before bringing items in.
