10 local restaurants worth a look for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is second only to Mother's Day in how many Americans eat out in celebration, according to the National Restaurant Association.
"Valentine's Day has historically been very good for restaurants, and this year will undoubtedly be no different," said Kristine Hillmer, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.Â
Maybe you're a planner who made your Feb. 14 dinner reservation weeks ago. Congratulations. Or maybe this headline made you aware that you need a plan, and your favorite restaurant is booked, and so is that new one you've been meaning to try.Â
Porta Bella on Frances Street, arguably the city's most romantic restaurant, is booked from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. But it's holding five bar tables open for walk-ins. Â
There are plenty of restaurants in Madison that don't take reservations where you can create a memorable night out, particularly if you are willing to go early or late.Â
