Sonic Foundry says keeping costs lean helped the company narrow its losses in the quarter that ended June 30 even though revenue declined.
The Madison company's Mediasite hardware and software are used to stream presentations over the Internet and archive them.
Sonic Foundry reported a net loss of $552,000, or 13 cents a share, on $9.8 million in revenue for its third fiscal quarter compared with a net loss of $921,000, or 21 cents a share, on $10.6 million in revenue for the same quarter, last year.
The company said construction delays on projects in the Middle East are keeping revenues lower than expected.
Sonic Foundry stock closed Thursday at $6.10 a share, down seven cents from the day before. The earnings report came in just after the market closed.
