Jon Rozenfeld is returning to SSM Health Care of Wisconsin as president of St. Mary’s Hospital.
He will lead St. Mary’s operations as well as work with Damond Boatwright, regional president and CEO of hospital operations, to grow and manage SSM Health Care hospital services and ambulatory operations across southern Wisconsin.
Rozenfeld has 25 years of executive leadership in the industry. Most recently, he was chief operating officer for Alexian Brothers Health System in the Chicago metro area.
In this role, he successfully restructured the operations team across two acute care hospitals to ensure standardization.

He also led the Service Line team to focus on business development, growth and physician relations. He also served on the board of the Alexian Brothers Accountable Care Organization.
Rozenfeld previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at St. Mary’s from 2006 to 2012.
During that time he was instrumental in the completion and opening of the hospital’s east wing, which nearly doubled the size of the campus, helped implement the Epic electronic health record system and championed an initiative to improve the patient experience, according to a news release.
Rozenfeld received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is active in numerous community and professional organizations.
“I’m excited to return to the Dean and St. Mary’s family and once again be part of the Madison community,” said Rozenfeld. “St. Mary’s Hospital has provided exceptional care for more than 100 years, and I’m honored to help carry on that rich heritage of healing.”
Rozenfeld replaces longtime president Dr. Frank Byrne, who retired in January. He will start on May 26.
