Matt Cannizzaro is the main PR guy at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships, handling news releases, player interviews, webcasts, etc.

And he just started a new personal Facebook fan page "Matt Cannizzaro - USBC"  that is here.

Matt's intro says, "For all of the behind-the-scenes news, information, trivia, pics and more from the USBC Open and Women's Championships, check out this page!"

The page, he said, "will serve as a blog/twitter feed for tournament news and a spot for sharing tournament photos, highlights, videos, discussion, contests, trivia, etc."

I "liked" Matt's new page and will be following it.

What might be the best page for Open Championships competitors is a closed group page run by Keith Dumphy.

The page actually changes with each year's tournament and "USBC Open 2012 - Baton Rouge, LA" is here.

Dumphy provides tons of useful information for those who attend the tournament, ranging from lodging and dining information to links to USBC news releases, my blogs and other stories related to the tournament.

Meanwhile, USBC this week announced some promotions and executive team restructuring, effective Jan. 1, in this news release.

There probably will be little to no impact on the typical USBC member, but one thing followers of my blog will notice is that the USBC person I quote will change from Pete Tredwell to Jason Overstreet, who has been promoted to managing director of communications.

Tredwell's new title is managing director of media and events.
