Former Ohio State running back Brandon Saine has agreed to a free agent deal with the Green Bay Packers, his representatives tweeted Tuesday.

Saine, who is listed at 6 feet tall and 217 pounds, rushed for just 337 yards on 70 carries (4.8 average) as a senior but was a receiving threat, catching 23 passes for 195 yards and five touchdowns.

Utah receiver Shaky Smithson tweeted that he has agreed to terms with the Packers as well.

Smithson, who stands 5-11 and weighs 202 pounds, started just four games as a senior but led the nation in punt return average at 19.07 yards per attempt, scoring two touchdowns.

Two other players were to be scarfed up quickly by Green Bay soon after the free agency signing period began Tuesday at 9 a.m., according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Wide receiver Tori Gurley of South Carolina and safety Anthony Bratton of Delaware.

The 6-foot-4, 211-pound Gurley played two seasons for the Gamecocks, catching 44 passes for 465 yards and four touchdowns last year.

Bratton, who stands 6-0, 213, had two interceptions last season and made 66 tackles.
