GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers traded up in the third round Friday night to take Georgia Tech safety Morgan Burnett.

The Packers sent their original third-round pick (No. 86 overall) and their fourth-round choice (No. 122) to the Philadelphia Eagles for the seventh choice in the third round (No. 71 overall).

Burnett had 14 interceptions in 40 games at Georgia Tech. He was a second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference pick last season.

Check back with Madison.com/sports later tonight and pick up a copy of Saturday's Wisconsin State Journal for more information on Burnett and second-round choice Mike Neal.
