Weekend split costs Wisconsin volleyball in latest poll

The University of Wisconsin volleyball team dropped two spots in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, which was released Monday.

The Badgers (7-3) are ranked eighth after sweeping Northwestern on Friday before getting swept by Minnesota on Sunday.

Texas (10-0) received all 64 first-place votes, and Louisville stayed at No. 2

There are four Big Ten teams ranked ahead of the Badgers, led by Nebraska at No. 3. Purdue (No. 5), Ohio State (No. 6) and Minnesota (No. 7) are above UW.

The Badgers are 2-2 over their last four matches. They return to action 1 8 p.m. Friday when they welcome No. 12 Penn State to the Field House. UW concludes the weekend with a 1 p.m. match against Illinois on Sunday.
