Wisconsin took a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter then held on to beat No. 1 Ohio State 31-18 at Camp Randall Stadium.

The Badgers used a balanced attack and stiff defense to beat the Buckeyes. John Clay rushed for 104 yards and James White gained 75. Scott Tolzien was 13 for 16 for 152 yards.

Ohio State cut the lead to 21-3 at the half and then scored two touchdowns, including a 2-point conversion, to put them within a field goal, 21-18. But the Badgers replied with a touchdown and field goal.
