The University of Wisconsin remained at No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings when the poll was released Tuesday night on ESPN.

The Badgers defeated Michigan, 24-10, on Saturday, and no teams in the top 12 lost over the weekend. Alabama maintained the top spot in the poll, followed by Miami, Clemson and Oklahoma.

The Tigers and Hurricanes will play each other in the ACC Championship game next week, which could open the door for the Badgers to jump past the loser of that game.

UW’s off to an 11-0 start for the first time in school history. With two more wins — against Minnesota on Saturday and Ohio State in next week’s Big Ten Championship game — the Badgers would likely move into the top four and earn a playoff spot.
