VISALIA, Calif. (AP) -- Jorge Perez stole home in the second inning, leading the Visalia Rawhide to a 5-1 win over the Modesto Nuts on Wednesday.

The play gave the Rawhide a 1-0 lead.

With the score tied 1-1 in the fourth, the Rawhide took the lead for good when L.T. Tolbert hit an RBI single, bringing home Luis Alejandro Basabe.

Visalia right-hander Josh Green (5-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Raymond Kerr (0-2) took the loss in the California League game after giving up three runs and seven hits over four innings.

Luis Liberato singled four times for the Nuts.

Visalia improved to 5-1 against Modesto this season.
