Sup. Yogesh Chawla introduced the resolution to include an advisory referendum asking voters whether they favor legalizing marijuana use and taxing and regulating marijuana similar to alcohol.
If approved by the County Board, the ballot question added to the Nov. 6 ballot would ask if voters think marijuana should be legalized, taxed and regulated in the same that alcohol is for adults over 21-years-old.
Tuesday's election brings seven new supervisors to the Dane County Board. Five of the county's 37 seats were contested.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
