A new bar and restaurant opened on the north side of Madison, and it offers customers something different. For owners Brian and Amanda Carriveau, the bierock is a family recipe, and they want to share it with the community.
Bierock has 24 beers on tap and four varieties of its namesake meat pies. It's set to have its official opening Tuesday and grand opening Saturday.
Bierock is lightly sweet, yeasted dough traditionally stuffed with beef, onions and sauerkraut. A new tavern with the same name is set to open in May.
