How To Train A Cat To Come To You On Command

Cats can be trained to do the same things as dogs. However, training a cat is very different from training a dog. Cat’s don't respond well to punishment, it can actually cause stress. It’s best to use positive reinforcements such as treats. To train your cat to come to you on command, the ASPCA says you will need to do two training sessions a day for five days. Start by making a distinct noise before you open their bag of food. Your cat will start to associate this noise with something positive and come to you whenever they hear it. Next, start making the noise a short distance away from your cat. Reward them with treats when they come over to you. Gradually increase the distance over time and then you will have a cat that comes to you on command.

Cats aren’t exactly famed for their trainability. But they are highly intelligent, so it’s quite possible to train a kitten if you put in the work.
